iKid with Saleema Noon

Ashley created the iKid workshop from her heart.  The Girl and The Sun book was originally written specifically for iKid, the first version illustrated by her 6 year old daughter in 2015.  The idea for iKid came to Ashley while observing that kids were continually being taught to be kind, but she noticed that she herself didn’t always feel kind.  She noticed a voice in her head that told her she was worse or better than other people.  She loves to teach kids that they don’t have to believe this voice.  Instead they can hear what it says and decide to bring their attention to their heart where the answers lie.  If they listen, their heart will guide them on how to act, how to think and how to speak.   And kindness emerges from there.

iKid is a 75 minute workshop that uses playful metaphors to teach 5-8 year olds how to be kind to themselves and others.  Even though everyone has judging thoughts, they can choose to let their heart lead.  And when they do, they will feel love spreading around them.

“My daughter was full of enthusiasm last night after the workshop – she loved it! She made me close my eyes and breathe and picture my cloud…she really took in the messages and enjoyed the time. She said that’s the most she has laughed all year!”

iKid Parent Session

So often parents would say to Ashley they wish they could take the iKid workshops themselves so she created a workshop for them.  This session teaches parents how to bring the key messages from The Girl and The Sun book and iKid workshop into their own homes.  It helps parents use the sun and cloud metaphors, not only in discussions with their children, but also while living their own lives.   When we practice something ourselves we can more easily teach it to the next generation.

Ashley passionately contributes an intuitive exploration of the human experience. She creatively combines knowledge with inner wisdom. Ashley’s vulnerability in expressing her own fears and sharing her transformation is nothing less than courageous and inspires courage in others. Through her teaching, I have learned to trust my own intuition and embrace my deepest fears as my greatest gifts. I am so grateful to have received her light and contribution. Thank you Ashley!

iKid Teacher Training

In this session, teachers learn to use the sun and cloud metaphors from The Girl and The Sun book and iKid workshop as a theme throughout the year to help create a culture of kindness in the classroom.  Kindness to oneself teaches personal awareness and self-regulation, and kindness to others instils communication and social responsibility.

“iKid was meaningful, interesting and interactive. Ashley had great energy, passion, and empathy. The workshop had great flow and a variety of activities to keep the kids engaged. I can’t think of anything to improve it!”
